The big blind is the second position to the left of the player with the dealer button between the small blind and UTG players. They are last to act pre-flop and second to act on all subsequent streets. This player is required to place the forced bet (blind), in a $1/$3 NL game they would be required to post $3 before being dealt into the hand.
